Meeting the Team


Greetings!
            We are the Oregon Tech’s 2014 international externship program team. We will be traveling to Honduras in September to provide oral hygiene services and education. We are all looking forward to see what Honduras has in store for us and cannot wait to share our adventure with you! Here are some interesting facts about our team.

Sharon Crawford:
1. I have been a hygienist for 12 years and teaching dental hygiene for 6 years.
2. I have been to Romania and Africa doing dental hygiene.
3. I love travel, camping and riding quads.

Joseph Young:
1. I lived in Costa Rica for 2 years
2. I have five children
3. I have 15 chickens and a beehive

Sarah Maxey:
1. I have never traveled outside the United States.
2. I have custom painted a Harley Davidson Motorcycle for someone.
3. I have started writing my own novel.

Sheila Bowes:
1. Both of my parents are deaf and I am fluent in sign language.
2. I love the outdoors and enjoy camping, rain or shine.
3. Before dental hygiene school, I went to flight school and earned a helicopter pilot's license.

Kyrstin Cameron:
1. I enjoy cooking from scratch.
2. My dog has his own pack for hiking and backpacking trips.
3. I never learned how to swim.

Kristin Miller:
1. I love to travel and hope to visit all 7 continents before I turn 50.
2. I played basketball, softball, and soccer when I was younger but am not into sports at all today.
3. I have a huge family and love spending my free time with them.

Kenda Wavra:
1. I have a one-eye dog her name is Bella and is a maltase/lhasa apso mix.
2. I wear a size 12 shoe.
3. I have two different colored eyes, one is green and one is blue.

Kate Lashley:
1. I love to read.
2. My brothers and I were all born on the 13th of different months.
3. I have dreamed of being a hygienist since I was 13.
